Three Shows Coming Up in April

Posted on 21:32 by Unknown
Hey Everyone!

I don't write you often, but I thought I'd check in to let you know about a few shows coming during April. First, I'll be headed back to Mount Sequoyah in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Then, two big shows with Connections.

Here's the scoop...

Mount Sequoyah Show: April 13, 7 pm.
Mount Sequoyah Retreat Center
Fayetteville, Arkansas

I'm really pleased to be headed back to one of my spiritual homes, Mount Sequoyah, this next weekend, for a show of my own music in Parker Hall. I'm really pleased that in the past few years, local Fayetteville songwriters (like my friend, Effron White) have really found the mountain to be a great place for local shows.

The main audience will be folks who have come to Sequoyah to do a week of volunteer work to clean and fix up the mountain. I'll also be leading a worship service for those folks on Thursday. But, my understanding is that anyone is free to come to the Wednesday show. So, if you or someone you know will be in the area, come on by.

"Hearts for Japan: A Tribute to Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder" with Connections
April 15th, 7 pm.
Joe Farmer Rec Center Amphitheater,
Allen, Texas

I hope all of you in the Dallas area have heard about the big show on Friday, April 15th. Our full band, more than 20 of us, will be playing the greatest songs of Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder, and raising funds for relief efforts in Japan.

Many people have felt frustrated by not knowing how to contribute to relief efforts in Japan. This night will be a great way to be a part. The show starts at 7 pm, but they'll be a warm up act (The FUMC Allen Praise Band) at 6:15. They'll also be a bounce house for kids, and lots of other fun.

It's an outdoor, grass amphitheater, so bring a picnic, frisbees, dogs, kids...your whole neighborhood. Last year, this show drew around 1,000 fans. We hope to have even more there this time!

Here's the official concert poster.

Here's the full concert info at our website, with a map and other details.

"Imagine No Malaria: Tribute to Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder"
April 29th, 7 pm
Town Center Plaza
255 Parkway Blvd
Coppell, TX

Connections will be back two weeks later, in Coppell, playing at another great outdoor space...the pavilion behind Coppell Town Center. This is another incredible outdoor venue. The same show as in Allen, but we'll be featuring the "Coppell horns," and an opening act of "Amber Open Skies." (Connections downbeat is at 7 pm)

The beneficiary of this show will be "Imagine No Malaria," an ambitious program that seeks to eradicate malaria from the face of the planet by 2015.

Hope you'll be able to come to support Connections in both places, and give me a shot in Fayetteville if you're around next week.

See you soon,

Eric Folkerth
